Izma (Buethe) Seeba was born May 9, 1925 in Elk Creek, Nebraska, the daughter of Henry Carl "Charlie" and Beatrice (Morris) Buethe. She was one of four daughters. Izma attended school in Elk Creek, Nebraska, but moved with her family to California where she completed her senior year in 1943.
On August 11, 1946, she married Glen Henry Seeba in Oakland, California, and they were married for 62 years. They later returned to Nebraska to make their home and to farm. They were blessed with four children, John, Russell, Joan, and Kristin.
Izma celebrates her love for Christ Jesus in her heavenly home, but while on earth she cherished many loves. Her beloved Glen whom she called "Seeb", her children, grandchildren, family, friends and neighbors were all treasured and loved dearly by her. Other loves were writing, cooking, flowers, trees, gardening, history and sewing. The grandchildren were always very special to Izma. She treasured the time they spent together whether it be camping at Sycamore Springs, marching around the house in “Grandma’s Band”, baking cookies, gardening, or making crafts.
Izma loved to host gatherings and was always ready to feed you day or night. A favorite was when friends and family gathered at the farm to celebrate her and Glen’s 50th wedding anniversary. Her love for cooking and family history motivated her to compile a "Heritage Cookbook" as a means to save recipes from past generations for future generations to enjoy. Izma built a successful cake business baking and decorating hundreds of wedding and special occasion cakes.
In 1970, she wrote her book titled "A Time To Speak" to help raise awareness of the needs of children with developmental challenges and educate the public on the importance of childhood vaccinations. She was drawn to politics in an attempt to affect legislative decisions to provide services for the developmentally challenged. In 1972, she served as a Nebraska Delegate to the Democratic Political Convention in Florida.  As members of the parent's association at the Beatrice State Developmental Center, she and Glen were very involved in the building of the "All Faith's Chapel" to ensure a place of worship for all residents.
Izma knew how important it was to share the gospel and was very involved with her local congregation at Grace Lutheran Church in Cook.  She and Glen spent many hours making blankets for Lutheran World Relief. She loved to make quilts and crafts, and enjoyed many "Seeba Craft Bazaars" and “ Kris and Kin" craft shows.
In 2010, Izma joined her "Duff's family" in Nebraska City and peacefully passed to eternal life on July 14, 2016 at the Friendship Villa Assisted Living.
She is survived by Son: John (Rita) Seeba of Falls City and their children, Angela (Trevor) Hanson and their sons, Avery, Samuel, and Nathan of Lincoln, Ryan (Eve) Seeba and their children, Alivia and Aiden of Falls City, Alex (Amanda) Seeba of Falls City; Son: Russell (Irene) Seeba of Johnson, and their children Justin (Heather) Seeba and their children Claire and Logan of Lincoln, Clayton (Shellie) Seeba and their children Cale and Ayla of Kearney, Tom Seeba of Gretna; Daughters: Joan Seeba of Auburn, and Kristin (Larry) Wellsandt of Talmage, and their children, Mark Wellsandt of Lincoln, Brian Wellsandt and special friend, Courtney Borrego of Auburn; Sisters: Muriel Epley of Pawnee City, Joan (Ernst) Schatzle of Farmington Hills, MI.
