Hi Van Nguyen

Hi Van Nguyen, 77, of Tecumseh, passed away at his home in Tecumseh, Nebraska, on Tuesday, May 24, 2016.  He was born to Pho and Rai (Ho) Nguyen on March 29, 1939 in Dinh-Tuong, Vietnam.  He attended elementary, high school and college in Vietnam.  Hi immigrated to the United States in 1975 and lived in Kansas City, Missouri.   He met his wife, Yen Thi Tran in Kansas City and they were married in Fremont, Nebraska in December of 1978.  Hi started working production for Swanson's in Fremont and when they closed that plant, they moved to Tecumseh and continued working for Campbell's Soup Company for 19 years. When Campbell Soup closed Hi went to work in Auburn for the  Armstrong Cabinet Factory for 9 years until his retirement.  

In his spare time, Hi was a Nebraska football fan, enjoyed gardening, exercising everyday and doing crossword puzzles.  

Hi is survived by his wife Yen of Tecumseh, children, Randy Nguyen of Omaha, and Paul Nguyen and fiancee Mallory Bartels of Seattle, WA, Mary Ann Ball and husband Jim of Tekamah, Tammy Madsen and husband Jim of Omaha and John Stout and wife Pam of Fremont, several grandchildren, several brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.    

Family will greet friends at visitation, with viewing, from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska.  Online condolences may be left @ www.wherrymortuary.com.
