Gwen Mangnall

Gwendolyn “Gwen” Mae Mangnall 94 of Pawnee City, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, October 1, in Pawnee City, Nebraska.  She was born on April 6, 1921 to Ellsworth and (Peckham) Tibbetts on a farm near DuBois, Nebraska.  Gwen was one of seven children: Donald, Derrald, Carlos, Zelma, Eva, and Neva.  She attended Avondale District #10 through 8th grade.  After graduating from 8th grade,she attended DuBois High School, graduating in 1938.  After her graduation she worked for various families in the neighborhood.  She was always industrious and thrifty.  She was employed until she was 91.

Gwen met her future husband, Cecil Mangnall, at a roller skating rink in DuBois and they married on January 5, 1941.   Gwen and Cecil lived on farms in southeast Nebraska, Western Nebraska and Colorado and spent twenty years in Oregon.

Gwen is preceded in death by her parents, Ellsworth and Zelma Tibbetts, husband Cecil, her brothers and sisters and all of Cecil’s siblings.

Funeral services 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at Wherry Mortuary, 919  G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Officiating Reverend Duane Westing

Visitation on Monday, October 5, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday October 6, 2015 from 9 a.m. - 3 :00 p.m. before services at Wherry Mortuary, Pawnee City, Nebraska,  Interment at the Pawnee City Cemetery, Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Memorials to donors choice.  Online condolences may be left at www.wherrymortuary.com.
