Glennis C (Peterson) Cyr

  Glennis Carol Cyr, 72, Tecumseh, passed away suddenly on January 15, 2016 at the Syracuse Community Hospital in Syracuse, Nebraska.  She was born to Glen and Lila Mae (Hammond) Peterson on April 12, 1943 in Bloomfield, Nebraska.  Glennis was raised on the farm with her siblings and attended school, graduating from Bloomfield High School.

   After high school, Glennis worked in the trucking industry as an administrator, where she met her future husband, Serge.  They were united in marriage on July 11, 1984.  Serge and Glennis moved to Tecumseh in 1985.  She drove with Serge on the truck for awhile and later worked from home with their trucking business, G & S Transport Enterprises. 

   In later years Glennis liked being at home, where she enjoyed cooking and sewing and was always a very hard worker.  She especially loved her dogs and horses.   

   She is survived by her husband of Serge of Tecumseh, daughter, Lori Stanikmas of Spencer, MA, grandsons, Michael and Steven Stanikmas, step-son, Scott Cyr and wife Amber of Waycross, GA, step-granddaughter, Ansley Cyr, sister, Maureen Fox and husband Jim of Cameron, MO, niece, Renae and nephews, Davin, Thomas and Nathan.

   Glennis was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Denny Peterson and nephew, Barrie.    

  Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 21, 2016 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska with Rev. Ken Tubbesing officiating.  Visitation will be Wednesday, January 20, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 6-7 p.m.   Memorials may go to the Diabetes Foundation.  Burial will be at a later date.  Online condolences may be left @ www.wherrymortuary.com.
