    Eugene D. Robinson was born to Byron and Elizabeth (Saylor) Robinson on February 8, 1925 in Hiawatha, Kansas. Eugene grew up on a farm near Sabetha, Kansas.  He attended a rural country school. He was drafted into the U.S. Army on August 8, 1945 and served his country until his honorable discharge on January 29, 1947.  He later received his honorary high school diploma at a recognition service at Adams High School in 2004. 

   He was united in marriage to Darlene Etter on June 10, 1951 at the Sabetha Congregational Church in Sabetha, Kansas.  To this union three children were born.

   Eugene and Darlene lived in Sabetha, KS for 7 ½ years. Eugene was a carpenter and they moved to various places before they retired in Adams.  After Darlene passed away Eugene resided at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital until his death on November 5, 2015. 

  His priority was his family. Eugene also loved the Rocky Mountains, family vacations, animals, especially horses, pheasant hunting, and we all have vivid memories of him riding his big red riding lawnmower.  He took a lot of pride in keeping up his yard. 

   He is survived by his children, Julia Hudson (Ron) of Malcolm, Darcia Mealhow of Pleasant Dale and Ronald Robinson (Marilyn) of Lincoln, granddaughters, Jill Kerl of Malcolm, Joy Gordon (Steven Conradt)of Elk Creek, Jessica Schwab (Michael) of Lincoln, Melissa Seeley (Travis) Lincoln, Morganna Koester (Jesse) of Bellevue and Michaela Badberg (Aaron Kalkwarf) of Malcolm, great-grandchildren, Colton and Angelica Wellman, sisters, Emma Rita Pyle of Hiawatha, KS and Elba Snyder (Carroll) of Sabetha, KS, nieces and nephews.

  Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Darlene (Dec. 4, 2012) and brother, Cedric Robinson.

   Graveside services will be held at the Heim Cemetery in Dawson, Nebraska at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 9, 2015 with Pastor Howard Blecha officiating.   Visitation will be at the Wherry Mortuary in Humboldt, Nebraska, Monday, November 9, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  Memorials may go to the People’s City Mission in Lincoln, Nebraska.   Interment will be in the Heim Cemetery, Dawson, Nebraska, with military honors by the Army National Guard Funeral Honors Team and the Harvey-Mann American Legion Post #269.   Online condolences may be left @ www.wherrymortuary.com.
