Elizabeth Blanchard

Elizabeth Marlene Blanchard, 56 of Steinauer, Nebraska passed away at her home.  She was born on July 28, 1959 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Junior Ray and Joyce Marlene (Lidjett) Gambles.Elizabeth lived on a farm in her early life and help take care of the farm and her siblings.  Elizabeth was always a hard worker. She received her G.E.D. and started college at SCC in Beatrice and took classes to be a receptionist. 

 She married Roger Wetzel Sr. and to this union three boys where born, Loren and James and Roger, Jr.   Roger and Elizabeth later divorced.  She then married Scott Blanchard in Pawnee.  In 2008 Scott passed away.  

Elizabeth had several different skills, a couple of them were being a CNA and being a cook.  Elizabeth loved to cook.  But most of all she was a mother. Elizabeth loved collecting  dolls and  carousel horses.  She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic church in Steinauer, Nebraska.Her main love the last few years was her dog Breezy.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by a son, Roger Wetzel, Jr. and husband Scott Blanchard.

She is survived by her son Loren Wetzel and his son Romeo of Nebraska City, NE and son James Wetzel and his daughter Maci of Council Bluffs, IA.

Loren would like to thank everyone for being a part of his mother’s life.
