  Delmar Charles Badertscher, 76, of Tecumseh, passed away October 11, 2016 in Tecumseh, Nebraska.  He was born to Fred and Frieda (Pfister) Badertscher on July 28, 1940 on the farm near Tecumseh, Nebraska. Delmar was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ (Maple Grove) Church, rural Tecumseh, Nebraska.  He attended Belleview District #49 rural elementary school through the eighth grade and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1957.  After high school Delmar delivered fuel for the Johnson County Co-0p, worked for Western Engineering on several missile bases and later was service station mechanic for Thurber Motors in Tecumseh. Later, Delmar worked as Station Engineer for NCRA pipeline company where he retired after 28 ½ years. Delmar was a past member of the Tecumseh Fire Department. 

  He was married to Betty Jean Farley on December 12, 1964. To this union three children were born, Rodney, Kimberly and Teresa.  The couple later divorced and Delmar re-connected with his friend, Ruth Ann Holben in 1993 and Delmar and Ruth Ann lived in Tecumseh up to the time of his death.

 Delmar’s lifetime interests included antique John Deere tractors, participating in and attending tractor pulls, deer hunting, bird and squirrel feeding, coin collecting and gardening.   He enjoyed playing Tangle word puzzles and electronic Solitaire to keep his mind sharp.

 He is survived by his children, Rodney Badertscher and special friend Traci of Villisca, IA, Kim Werman and husband Dale of Rolla, MO and Teresa Boldt and husband Dave of Chesapeake, VA, grandchildren, Lynette Werman and Lynnsey and Jalysa Boldt, special friend, Ruth A. Holben of Tecumseh, brother, Elmer Badertscher and wife Vonny of Blairsville, GA, sisters, Esther Hassan of Riverside, CA, Erma Wright and husband Don of Lincoln and Ruth Bray and special friend Donald Othmer of Tecumseh, sister-in-law, Aloma Badertscher of Tecumseh and many nieces and nephews.

  Delmar was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Gene, Wayne and Eldon Badertscher.

   Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the St. Paul’s U.C.C. (Maple Grove) rural Tecumseh, Nebraska, with Rev. Eric Biehl officiating.

   Visitation will be at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska, Friday, October 14, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m.

  Memorials may go to the St. Paul's United Church of Christ, (Maple Grove), rural Tecumseh, Nebraska.

   Inurnment will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2016 in the St. Paul’s U.C.C. (Maple Grove) Cemetery, rural Tecumseh, Nebraska.
