Debbie Jo Clark was born on February 23, 1963 to Dewey and Betty (Atkinson) Clark.  She grew up on the family farm northwest of Pawnee City, one of the fifth generation of family to live there. It was here she learned her honesty, work ethic, and empathy.  It was where she got her strength.

She graduated from Pawnee City High School in 1981, where she was the president of the first National Honor Society chapter at the school.  She was involved with Band, Speech, and Drama while in school.

After high school, Debbie entered the workforce, waiting tables at the Theatre Lounge and Rainbow Drive In located in Table Rock.  Her dream was to work in the travel industry so she took the opportunity to go for a short course of travel training in Miami, Florida.  Still not able to get her foot in the door, she took a position as an Alco manager trainee in Grenada, Mississippi.  After 18 months, she moved back home for a couple of months before a cousin got her foot in the door of travel in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  After a number years there, she moved back to Lincoln where she worked for Van Duling Travel.  After a number years there, she got a job with American Express in Omaha.  Her most recent job was implementing payment software for Global Business Travel, an offshoot of American Express. This was a job she could do from home.

While working for American Express, she got tired of city life so moved to an acreage with a cousin with whom she shared a special bond.  She had her flowers and garden along with being back in the country, which she loved.  She shared her produce and flowers with many people.

Debbie passed from this life on November 24, 2017 after a  massive stroke.  Her final act of selflessness was to be a tissue donor.

Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Dewey and grandparents.

She is survived by her mom, Betty of Pawnee City, NE, sisters, Connie (Guy) Brollini, of Beatrice, NE, Penny Benton of Cameron, MO, Polly Clark of Pawnee City, NE, special Cousin, Clint Retzlaff of Ceresco, NE, aunt, Ruth Boomgaarn, uncle David Kent, aunt, Pat Cress, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.  Her co-workers especially loved and respected her.
