Carol (Wert) Thiemann

Carol Jean Thiemann, 93 of Pawnee City passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Premier Estates in Pawnee City, Nebraska.  She was born to William and Millie (Langer) Wert on October 5, 1924 in Crab Orchard. 

The family moved to rural Elk Creek area.  She attended Rural Johnson County grade school and 2 years at Elk Creek School.  She graduated from Pawnee City Schools in 1942.

She was united in marriage to Willard M. Thiemann on March 5, 1944 at the United Methodist Church in Pawnee City.  They made their home on a farm near Pawnee City where they raised their son Larry Thiemann.

She was an active member of Pawnee Rural Neighbors Extension Club and was a 4 H leader for over 40 years.  She also wrote a column for the Pawnee Republican.  Carol had many Pen Pals all over the world and had international visitors from England, India and Australia. Carol was a member of the Red Hat Society and AARP.  Carol enjoyed doing AG in the classroom in both the Lincoln and Omaha Public Schools.  Carol was a member of First Presbyterian Church and later in life attended Zion Lutheran.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Willard, parents, William and Millie (Langer) Wert, In-Laws, William and Rose Thiemann and nephew, Ron Holecheck.

Carol is survived by her son Larry and wife Marjorie of Pawnee City, granddaughter Sheila and husband Gary Stolz of Douglas, grandson William and wife Marybeth of Table Rock, great grandchildren, Garrett Stolz of Lincoln, Sheanna Stolz of Douglas, Anthony Thiemann and nToby Thiemann of Table Rock, brother Bill and wife Marcella Wert of Minnesota and a niece, nephews, and other family members.

Services 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church in Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Officiating Pastor Tim Llewellyn. Visitation on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m. at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Inurnment at the Pawnee City Cemetery, Pawnee City.  Memorials to family choice.  On line condolences may be left at www.wherrymortuary.com
